All Things Work Together
4-24-02 All Things Work Together
Friends and Family,
Thank you for continuing to pray with us, for all the cards and posts of
encouragement and love. All the family is touched by your outpouring of love.
Thank you.
"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that
loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for
God is love." 1 John 4:7,8
Cindy
We again are asking you to fervently pray for the infection in Cindy's leg.
Because of the doctor's concern over the close proximity of the bacteria to the
bone, Cindy is scheduled for surgery at 6 a.m. Friday morning CDT. The procedure
will be to clean the wound and implant another antibiotic bead into her leg.
Another culture will be taken during the surgery to determine the status of the
bacteria. We need to pray for this infection to be brought under control. There
could be serious implications for Cindy if this bacteria is not killed. Please
pray...
Samuel
Samuel is continuing to improve daily. He had quite a FULL day today. Samuel had
physical therapy twice and visited the play room/gym. The physical therapist,
speech therapist, occupational therapist, and psychologist all visited with
Samuel today. The family was thrilled with all of them. Samuel responded very
well to each of them. Tomorrow a school teacher will be added to the team. We
are all very pleased with the care Samuel is receiving. We are rejoicing more
than words could express with his progress. As we receive the reports daily, we
just marvel at ALL God has done....
Please be in prayer for each of the staff working with Samuel. Pray for wisdom,
patience, a good working relationship with Samuel and with the family, for God
to be glorified in each session, and for excellent results.
We were touched as Frankie relayed a segment of Samuel's meeting with the
psychologist. We would like to share it with you:
The doctor talked with Samuel about the attack, what he remembered and what his
feelings were when the incident occurred. During their talk, Samuel expressed he
was very afraid. She asked him how he felt when his Daddy picked him up
following the attack. He replied, "Safe." The psychologist talked with him about
his feeling that same fear from time to time now as he deals with the trauma.
She comforted him and told him as that fear came over him to remember his Daddy
picking him up in his arms, to remember how safe he felt. Remembering how safe
he felt in his Daddy's arms could help him feel safe even now. Then she asked
him if he knew Who was holding his Daddy and him (Samuel) in Their arms. Samuel
replied, "God." She said, "You are right, Samuel. God was holding your Daddy in
His Arms while your Daddy was holding you in his arms..." Samuel, God is still
holding both of you. He will take care of you.
God HAS held Jeff, Cindy, Emily, Samuel, and Luke in His Arms every moment of
every day. He has carried them each step of the way. He has strengthened them,
encouraged them, refreshed them. He has done the same for their extended
families, others involved in the attack, many of you reading this update and for
us. Isn't it wonderful to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father? What a
testimony to the Love of the Father!
Friends, God loves you. It is His Desire that ALL of us be in His Arms, to be
wrapped in His Love. He wants to hold you in His Arms as you walk through
difficult times just as He has held Jeff and Samuel. We pray you will let Him
carry you. Climb into the arms of the Father and let Him love you, feel "safe"
in His Arms, rest in Him....
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
