Coming Home
4-18-02 Coming Home
Friends and Family,
THE WOMBLES ARE COMING HOME!!
Thank you once again for your patience in getting this update to you. Many,
many, many people have been working long hours over the last several days. We
want to thank you for the prayer coverage - God has worked many miracles to
arrange fights, secure medical releases and facilitate communication lines among
all involved. All glory, honor and praise goes to Him, and Him alone for
arranging their transportation home!
We are asking you to be in prayer throughout the coming weekend for the
transfer. We will keep you updated on flight information as it is received and
as we are released to do so. Due to the media coverage and concerns over their
personal security, the Wombles are being transported to an undisclosed location
in the United States. A Ministry Team is in place to assist with the initial
arrival details and personal needs of the family. Ministry Team, we are bringing
them home to help them find healing and rest, so please remember the importance
of anonymity for the family. Thank you....for everything you are doing!!
Update on Wombles
The Wombles are all ecstatic about coming home. We heard a relief in their
voices that was incredibly refreshing to us today. The last thirty-three days
have been far longer and rougher than most of us could imagine. We are so
grateful to be able to bring them back to the States where they can have a
support group and receive the care - emotionally, physically and spiritually -
they so desperately need. Thank you for the role each of you has played in
offering prayer support for them. They are all quick to say "Prayer is what has
gotten them through."
Please remember the road in front of them is still very long. As stated in the
past, this is a marathon not a sprint. The Wombles are hopefully at the halfway
point now. Your continued prayers, shows of support and encouragement, and
offers of help are and will be greatly needed throughout the marathon.
Cindy and Samuel are being transferred directly to a hospital at the undisclosed
location. It is our understanding both will undergo surgeries as soon as their
transfer is complete. Jeff will also go through a battery of tests and his
injuries will finally be able to be addressed. His reconstructive surgeries on
his ears may begin upon arrival as well.
Rees, Frankie and Susan
Rees, Frankie and Susan will be traveling via Air Ambulance to the States with
the family. Please be in prayer for the three of them. They will be receiving
care upon arrival as well. They have suffered a great deal of trauma and those
issues will be addressed upon their return.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Our family is requesting anyone contacted by the media refer them to our media
representative John Russell. John Russell and Debbie Wiseman will be holding
press conferences to update the media along the way. They are being counseled by
media specialists how to best meet the needs of the family in this area. Please
let them take care of this for us.
Thank you once again for your prayers. We pray each of you will offer a
sacrifice or praise to God for all He has done just as our family is as we each
go to bed tonight. Friends, we see God's Hand working and we thank Him. We thank
Him for His Grace to walk with Him as He works, to be in His Presence through
each mile of this marathon, and to feel His Love with each new update - whether
good or bad. We praise Him that His Mercies are and have been new every
morning...
"And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
Resting in His Love and Grace,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
