Daddy, I Don't Hurt Anywhere

4-13-02 Daddy, I Don't Hurt Anywhere

Friends and Family,

"But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me." Psalm 13:5, 6

Praise be to God from Whom all blessings flow....!!

Samuel
When Samuel woke up this morning he said, "Daddy, I don't hurt anywhere." Tears of gratitude well up in our eyes to even type that Samuel is pain free today. No emotional outbursts, cries of pain...just a very sick little boy who has been touched by the Hand of Almighty God. God is sooooooo Good!!!. Thank You, Lord!!!

Samuel continues to become stronger and more alert each day. He went to see his Mommy (Cindy) again today. She described his mood as melancholy, and is a little concerned. The doctors think Samuel is beginning to deal with the emotional trauma he suffered in the attack. He desperately needs to be talking with a counselor to help him work through his emotions, all of them do. This can't happen until they are able to return to the States. Pray for a quick return. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!

Cindy
Cindy had her drains removed today, but the doctor doesn't want her to try to begin walking until Monday. He feels one of the reasons for the second surgery on her leg was because they progressed with her walking too soon. Cindy is eager to get her strength built back up. Pray for continued healing and strength, patience and comfort.

Jeff, Emily and Luke
Emily and Luke had a fun day. Jeff played with them most of the day, and they helped him shave his head this morning! Yes, Rees and Frankie arrived to the apartment to find Emily and Luke shaving Jeff's head. :) Jeff shaved his head to empathize with Samuel. Samuel's head is shaved from the crown down around the ears and all the way around the back. Jeff wanted to look like his boy...

Helping Hands
Everyone is anxious to get home. We spoke with Susan today. She said all of them were doing well. They are all feeling much better since we have had several days of good news. The changes in Cindy and Samuel have been remarkable. She said all of them are very encouraged, but from the youngest to the oldest, their hearts long to be home...

Return Home
Prayer Warriors, please pray their return will be soon. We will be sharing information to you in these updates regarding their return home in the coming weeks. We are asking you to use this confidential information for prayer purposes. The Wombles and Nickersons have been through a great deal. They NEED to be able to return Stateside. They need to do this with anonymity for their security and peace of mind. Press conferences will be held to release information about their physical and emotional conditions. We are asking everyone defer to our media representative John Russell if approached by the media for information. Please recognize and understand there are many dynamics at work that everyone is not aware of. Our goal is to keep the Wombles safe and provide them an opportunity to heal. We trust you will help us in that endeavor.

Specific prayers about return:
Please pray that God will begin to prepare the hearts of those who will receive them in the States. The Wombles and Nickersons are arriving home very needy emotionally. They have many issues to work through, physically, spiritually, and emotionally, that will require time and healing. Pray for peace, strength, understanding and patience in those God is lining up to minister to them.

Please also pray specifically for the media to honor the wishes of the family. John Russell has been our media representative during this situation. He has done a tremendous job of protecting all of us. Please pray the media will cooperate and work through the channels our family has set up.

John, we greatly appreciate the hours of behind the scene labors of love you have provided - press releases, fielding calls, assisting with security planning, coordinating Stateside needs, your words of encouragement, being a strength and support for us - you will never know how much we appreciate all you have done. May God bless you and keep you in His Care...

Notes of Encouragement
Thank you for all the notes of encouragement, e-mails and support for the Wombles and Nickersons. It has been a blessing and strength to them to know you are there and are praying. We have set up an Encourage the Wombles board at hbm4him.org for you to post notes of encouragement to the Wombles and Nickersons. We have worked out an arrangement for these to be printed and delivered to them. You may also send letters and notes of encouragement to the following address:
Wombles c/o Nickersons, 809 E. Bloomingdale Ave., # 408, Brandon, Florida 33511. Please feel free to let them know you care...

Thank you
Friends and Family, thank you for walking this road with us. It has been and is a marathon and not a sprint. We are hoping we have reached the halfway point. We pray you will continue to uplift our family and all those peripherally involved as the return home is planned. There are many details to be coordinated. Your prayers are appreciated.

"But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord." Psalm 115:18

With hearts full of thanks and gratitude,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
