Fantastic Day
4-12-02 Fantastic Day
Friends and Family,
"Today was a fantastic day."
Samuel
This morning the nurses dressed Samuel in real clothes - jeans, a sweatshirt,
socks and tennis shoes. Samuel was placed into a child-sized stroller and he
went to see Cindy in her room. He was able to sit up by himself in the stroller.
He was even able to hold his head up. Samuel visited with Cindy for about an
hour, then went outside to visit with Emily and Luke in a children's play yard.
The siblings had a special time together. On his way back to his room, Samuel
went back by Cindy's room to tell her all that happened. He was very, very tired
from the day....but, PRAISE THE LORD for his day!!
Cindy
Cindy said, "It was a wonderful day because I was able to see Samuel 2x's
today." She has asked we pray for her to regain the strength she had before this
last surgery. She is still in some pain and weak from the surgery. The culture
did come back from the surgery and does not show any infection! The doctor
indicated there was no bacteria present, only body fluid. Another answer to
prayer!! The doctor plans to remove the drains tomorrow, and she will be able to
resume her exercises. Apparently, it is not a pleasant experience for the drains
to be removed. Please pray for comfort and peace and rest for Cindy.
Jeff
Yesterday, Jeff's foot had become infected. The family was rather concerned
about how serious it might be, as in possibly requiring surgery to cleanse the
wound. Jeff's foot is doing better. Dr. Wendell was able to flush and cleanse
the wound last night. It is already looking better today. Thank you for your
prayers.
Helping Hands
Dr. Nickerson is in route to the States. Please keep him in your prayers. The
family was very sorry to see him leave, but were extremely thankful he was able
to be with them during this time. Had he not been there to examine Samuel and
insist on the CAT scan being completed ahead of schedule, the infection in
Samuel's brain could have spread and further damage been caused. All of us feel
he was at the hospital "for such a time as this." We are thankful...
From the beginning our prayer has been God would be glorified in all the earth,
that what satan meant for evil God would use for good. God has been and is using
this situation for good literally all over the world. Prayer warriors are
sending reports of lives being changed, people attending Church for the first
time in years, Churches experiencing revival through the prayers going up....God
is moving and lives are being touched. Our prayers, all of our prayers, have
been answered!
We just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all of you who have so
faithfully prayed for our family. So many miracles have occurred. Today's report
even? SAMUEL SAT UP IN A CHAIR AND WENT OUTSIDE WITH HIS FAMILY. This is a
direct answer to prayer. We rejoice in the Lord for He is Good...all the time!!!
"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers.
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience
of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;" I
Thessalonians 1:2-3 KJV
Rejoicing in the Lord,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
