His Love Endures Forever
3-29-02 His Love Endures Forever
Friends and Family,
Frankie said Psalm 118 really ministered to them throughout
the day yesterday and continues to today. This Psalm has brought much comfort
over the years to she and all the Nickerson family.
Psalm 118:1-8,13-21
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let Israel say: "His love endures forever."
Let the house of Aaron say: "His love endures forever."
"Let those who fear the Lord say: "His love endures forever."
In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and he answered by setting me free.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
...
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The Lord 's
right hand has done
mighty things!
The Lord 's right hand is lifted high; the Lord 's right hand has done mighty
things!"
I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord
.
This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter.
I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
Frankie's paraphrase of this Psalm and Scripture prayer on
behalf of the Wombles:
Let the house of Nickerson say, "His love endures forever."
Let the house of Womble say, "His love endures forever."
Let the house of all who read this say, "His love endures forever."
It was the Lord's Right Hand that performed surgery yesterday.
The Lord is with us.
With shouts of joy we say, "It was the Lord's Right Hand that has done
miraculous things." Samuel, all the Wombles, will not die, but will live
to proclaim what the Lord has done.
We give thanks to the Lord.
Rees, Frankie and Susan
The Grandparents have all been able to get some much needed rest. To quote Rees,
"They are all rested and ready to go again." Their spirits were soaring high
and they are singing God's praises!! Please to continue to pray for God's Grace
and Strength for each of them.
Samuel - Day One of Ten
Samuel was awake during the night off and on. Even though he was struggling
with some pain, he talked and talked and talked with Jeff. He was able to tell
his daddy where he hurt. What an answer to prayer for the family! It has been
hard to not be able to communicate with Samuel and know what to do to help him.
Praise the Lord for opening the communication again!!!
Jeff said Samuel kept saying "yes, yes, yes" during their
conversations. :) During the night, they changed the dressings for the wounds
all over Samuel's body. Rees indicated there are approximately 15 dressed
wounds. When they removed the dressing from one of the wounds a piece of
shrapnel had worked it's way to the surface. The doctor is very pleased with
this! Samuel's body is healing and responding to the treatment!! It is a very
good sign when the body begins to rid itself of foreign objects and infection.
God is Good and is still working His Miracles!
Please continue to lift Samuel up in your prayers. The next
10 days are critical for him. We need to be praying against secondary
infections. We need to be praying for God's continuing Touch.
Jeff
Jeff is asleep now. He spent the night with Samuel. Samuel was in a lot of
pain so Jeff asked the doctor to give him something to reduce the pain. After
they did so, Samuel began to rest peacefully. During the night, Jeff was able
to have a "good cry" with God. It was good for him to have this release of
emotions. It was good for him to be alone and to be able to cry out to the One
who heals the brokenhearted. Thank God for His Comfort and Peace.
Cindy
Cindy was with Samuel this morning. She had physical therapy. It went well.
She was then taken to see Samuel. When she arrived Samuel was dosing, but
immediately woke up. He was not agitated or uncomfortable, but rather was very
calm during her visit. He was comforted by his mother's presence. Cindy read
him a book...they were able to visit and "be" together. Thank you, Lord, for
allowing Cindy to be with Samuel once again!! Thank you for understanding the
heart of a mother and knowing the depth of a mother's love...
Cindy will not receive physical therapy for the next four
days. Friday thru Monday the hospital will be on minimum staff for the Easter
holiday. They did provide her with instructions for some exercises she can
perform on the side of her bed with some help of the family. Pray for her
continued healing. Pray for God's protection over her body that no infection
will set in. Cindy is not taking any antibiotics due to her reactions to them.
We NEED prayer coverage over her during this time of healing.
Emily and Luke
Emily and Luke spent last night and today with the Wards. The Wards are on
staff with the company and have been a tremendous asset in helping coordinate
necessary details with medical care, transportation back to the states, and just
providing emotional support for the family. Our heartfelt thanks to the Wards
for all they are doing.
Thank you
We want each and every one of you to know we thank each of you personally for
the prayers you have lifted up for this family. We believe with all our hearts
they are still alive today because of God hearing your prayers. We are
receiving e-mails from all over the world testifying of prayer vigils, lives
being changed, seeds being planted - thank you. Thank you for helping to make
Cindy and Jeff's prayer a reality..."Our prayer is that God will be glorified."
He IS being glorified around the world...thank you for YOUR part in making that
happen.
Please continue to pray. We cannot stress enough the
urgency of keeping the Wombles in your prayers at this time. The next 10 days
are so very critical for Samuel. Cindy is fighting major medical issues without
the aid of antibiotics. Jeff continues to have medical issues that are going
untreated in an effort to be available to his family. God is working miracles
and none of these situations are too big for Him to handle. Let's just keep
praying...
God bless each of you and keep you in His Care,
The Nickersons
