Jeff and Cindy Departure

3-20-02  Jeff and Cindy Departure

Friends and Family,

We just spoke with Dr. Sandy.  She was in the room with Cindy and said she is doing well.  Cindy is being prepared by medical personnel to be moved from her hospital room right now.  Samuel is doing better than yesterday.  He was checked out of the hospital by medical personnel at noon and is being transferred to the airport via ambulance.  They are currently in route.  Jeff, Emily and Luke are heading to the airport as we speak.  Jeff seems to be doing well.  He, Emily and Luke had just finished lunch before being transported to the airport.  They are only being allowed to take id and medical records with them.

We were able to speak with Lara, the friend who has been caring for the Emily and Luke during this time.  She indicated Emily had a hard, hard time getting to sleep last night.  She did not sleep well during the night.  She is a little anxious at how quickly everything is happening.  The children were able to visit with Cindy this morning and that seemed to help.  Emily wants to know and understand what is going on.  Please lift her up in prayer specifically.  It is very difficult to be at her age at a time like this - when you don't get all the detailed facts.  Pray for peace, a cooperative spirit, and God's Grace over Emily at this time...and over Luke.  Jeff will be with the children constantly from now on.  Pray for all of them as they will be reunited as a family unit for the first time since the incident in the next few minutes. Emily and Luke have not seen Samuel since the attack.  Pray for a calmness in them during the ride.

We would like to also ask you to pray for Mark and Lara Robinson, the dear friends of Cindy and Jeff and now who are endeared to all of the family as well.  Mark and Lara are doing well physically.  She asked we pray for emotional healing.  They are hurting.  She specifically requested prayer for her daughters, Hannah and 2 1/2 year old Thoebe. Thoebe saw the most.  She is talking about the incident, specifically about blood a lot.  They are letting her talk and working with the counselors at this time.  Lara is concerned though.  Pray God will heal their emotions and continue His  restoration work in them.  The Robinsons will remain in Pakistan and continue to provide foreign aid to the Pakistani nationals.  Your prayers are coveted on their behalf.

Critical Incident counselors did meet with all of them last night.  Emily and Luke were able to participate in the counseling with the Robinson family.  Lara said it was very good for all of them to talk.  Mark was able to talk with Cindy this morning and share what he had been taught.  He was able to really minister to Cindy.  We are so thankful that even in the midst of all this tragedy, God is letting His Body edify one another.  We serve an AWESOME God!!!!!

Everything is going as scheduled.  We just wanted to give those of you praying during the night updates as we received them.  Thank you for your continued prayers.  His Presence has been felt in a great and mighty during all of this.  The miracles and fingerprints of God are everywhere we have looked.  We stand in awe of His Love and Compassion.....

Blessing His Name,
The Nickersons
