Pray For Encouragement
4-10-02 Pray for Encouragement
Friends and Family,
Today we have two BIG prayer
requests. We are asking every prayer warrior receiving this e-mail to take a
few minutes and lift these requests to the Throne Room of Grace.
1) Pray for the Wombles and Nickersons
- Jeff, Cindy, Emily, Samuel, Luke, Rees and Frankie Nickerson, Susan Womble,
and Dr. Wendell Nickerson. They need our prayers. They are very tired and
emotionally weary. The emotional roller coaster, sleep deprivation, unfamiliar
surroundings, repetitive crisis moments...all of this is wearing their bodies
and spirits down. Please pray for a sustaining in their physical, emotional and
spiritual beings.
2) Please pray for God to work
mightily and arrange for their rapid return home. They long to be home again
where the love and support of friends and family can help to refresh and renew
their spirits. They need to be able to sleep regular or at least adequate hours
on a routine basis. They need some help with being at the hospital on 24x7
shifts. They have worked hard, worked long and worked effectively. They are in
need of a break. Uncle Wendell has provided another "body" to help with shifts
and that has provided some relief. We are very thankful for this; however,
everyone is soooooo worn out. Let's pray together that God will orchestrate a
quick return...
Cindy
Cindy could use very targeted prayers on her behalf today. She has had a rough
day with regard to pain in her leg. Her leg is very sore and hurting more than
it has been. She is also experiencing burning in the wounds. She is confined to
her bed until the drain tubes are able to be removed. Pray for the tubes to be
removed quickly so she can resume her exercises and progress in her physical
therapy. Please also pray for the Peace that passeth all understanding and a
comfort only the Comforter can provide for Cindy.
Samuel
Samuel's first day post-op was relatively good. The drain tubes were taken out,
wounds all cleaned, and he is eating well. He has had some deterioration
neurologically, but this is to be expected following surgery of this nature.
Even with this news, we were encouraged to hear he was coloring this morning. :)
Samuel is in need of psychiatric care
to work through and deal with the trauma he has experienced. His neurosurgeon
feels Samuel would benefit the most from being in the States when receiving this
type of care. The language barriers, accents, cultural differences have all
contributed to a heightened frustration level in Samuel.
Friends and Family, bottom line is we
need to get them home. Again, we ask that you please pray for a window of time
when Cindy and Samuel can both be released to be Medivac'd to the States.
Emily and Luke
Emily and Luke are doing well overall. They were able to visit with their Mommy
in the hospital this morning. They spent some time in the afternoon playing
soccer outside with their Daddy. All the family is working diligently to meet
Emily and Luke's needs - emotional, spiritual, and physical. The children are
also weary with the intense schedule and stress level the family is under and
would benefit from some "calm stability" back in the States. Please keep them in
your prayers.
Our greatest prayer need for today is
probably for the Spirit to encourage the Wombles and the Nickersons. The enemy
is under attack - both abroad and Stateside - and needs to be defeated. We are
standing on His Promises...
"Ye are of God, little children,
and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in You, than He that is in
the world." 1 John 4:4 KJV
Walking by faith not by sight,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
