3-27-02 Samuel Going to Brain Surgery
Friends and Family,
We just received an update.
Samuel
Jeff stayed through the night with Samuel. Jeff said he did pretty well
during the night. The pain seemed to have subsided a little and Samuel
seemed to be getting some relief. Susan indicated the family was feeling a
little encouraged over night and felt we might be seeing some improvement,
even if minor.
However, this morning Samuel's pain has increased again. Susan said he is "crying horribly and very miserable." As you know, infection has been our greatest concern for Samuel's condition. Tests results were just received indicating Samuel does have infection in the brain. The doctors need to go in and do surgery. The doctors are meeting with Jeff and Cindy right now to discuss taking him into surgery. We would covet your prayers!!!!

Cindy is out of ICU. She is back in her room and seems to be doing fine.
She had been told she could see Samuel today and that has changed yet again.
Prayer Warriors, we NEED God to intervene on this request. All of the family
feel Cindy and Samuel would experience a tremendous boost if they could just
be together, even if for only a brief minute. Please pray Cindy can see
Samuel before surgery, and that Samuel will be calm when she is with him.
Susan indicated all of them feel very helpless when he is crying. There is
just nothing anyone can do to help him. He is no longer communicating so
they are not able to determine what hurts. This has been so emotional for
all of them. Please continue to pray for God's Grace and God's Strength over
the family!!

Susan Womble asked us to say a special thank you for a nurse at the hospital
named Dennis. She said he has shown a true love for Samuel and has done
everything he can to make him feel comfortable. He has been a blessing to
the family. Susan felt God sent him to the family and just wanted to say
thank you! God continues to show His Love in so many little and big ways....
Elizabeth arrived home safely. Thank you for your prayers on her behalf!
The friends have arrived and are with Emily and Luke. Susan said it was really a blessing to have them there. The children are excited to be able to play together again.
We will send more updates as we receive them. We apologize for your not hearing from us sooner today. When you do not hear from us, please know it is only because we have not heard anything ourselves.
