Samuel Stands

4-4-02  Samuel Stands

Friends and Family,

Good news from afar...

Samuel
Samuel stood up today!! The physical therapist placed Samuel into a chair to weigh him and he was able to sit alone for a few seconds. Samuel was then able to stand up on his own for 10 to 15 seconds. The physical therapist had Samuel in a vertical position for almost a minute. Samuel is thrilled!!! So is the family, here and there!! According to Rees, Samuel looked as if he was thinking, "Wow! This is good. I forgot what this felt like." Praise the Lord for yet one more miracle!!

Samuel's appetite is also improving. Rees said they could barely fill him up. This morning he ate cereal, a portion of a banana, yogurt, bread and honey. For lunch, he ate spaghetti with ham and sauce, bread, and some salad. Samuel is getting stronger and seems to be feeling a little better.

We do have a few prayer concerns. One of the incisions is leaking brain fluid. The wound has a little swelling and there is some fluid between the scalp and the skull. Please pray the body will absorb the fluid so no medical intervention will be necessary.

Samuel's stomach is still creating a great deal of pain for him. We need the Divine Healer to touch his stomach, bladder, urinary tract, entire digestive system and work a miracle. Please pray for a fresh cleansing of his system.

Please continue to pray for Samuel and his caregivers as they deal with his emotional outbursts and weariness from the pain.

Cindy
Cindy is continuing to improve daily. Her physical therapy is going very well. She is getting stronger. She is eager to get well and has requested to have the family assist in the physical therapy exercises so she could do more exercises each day. Pray for her continued strength, continued protection over her body from infection, and for continued healing.

Helping Hands
Rees's brother Wendell will be boarding a plane momentarily to travel to the Wombles and Nickersons. Please be in prayer for him as he joins the caregivers already there in ministering to the Wombles. He is a doctor so we are all thrilled to have his insight into the medical condition of our loved ones. He is also a mature Christian brother and we feel comforted that he will be there to minister to their spiritual needs as well. Pray for a good flight and that his spirit will be strong and refreshed when he arrives. Thank you, Uncle Wendell, for laying everything down to go...

Once again, we thank you for your prayers. We continue to stand on the Promises of God knowing He is able......

Standing on His Promises,
Nick and Donna
