They All Speak English

4-21-02 They All Speak English

Friends and Family,

Thank you so much for your prayers, birthday cards/postings for Samuel's birthday, words and notes of support to the family, for your offers of help, for everything...what a blessing you have been!

The Wombles and Nickersons are so glad to be back in the States. From the youngest to the oldest, they are relieved and thrilled to be on American soil again!

Last night after Samuel had been checked into his ICU room, numerous tests had been completed and they were preparing for bed, Samuel whispered to Grandpa Rees, "Grandpa, they all speak English. I can understand them. I'm really glad I'm here. I'm glad we are in the States." Samuel was elated to be able to understand what was being said by the medical staff. He was so relaxed and happy to be back. Of course, now he is constantly saying, "Grandpa, take me home. I want to go to my house." Hopefully soon, Samuel, we are all praying!!

We would like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to the Company, to the med evac company, the transport team, to the medical institutions, and to the Ministry Team who helped make the transfer to the States possible for the Womble family. THANK YOU for helping this little boy and his family get back to the States again...may God bless you all for your labors of support.

Cindy
Cindy's surgery was successful. The doctors removed and replaced the antibiotic beads. Cindy said she does not have as much pain as she did following the last surgery. We have not received a full doctor's report, but the doctor appeared to be pleased with the surgery.

The physical therapists have attached her leg to a machine that raises the foot and bends the knee to work her muscles. This will allow the blood to circulate more freely and aid in the healing process. Cindy continues to improve daily. We are praying for a complete healing for Cindy.

Samuel
Samuel is doing great!! He is a miracle! All of his caregivers, including medical staff who transferred him to the States, continue to marvel at his rapid progress. There is only ONE explanation...God has performed a miracle, many miracles, on Samuel Womble!!

The doctors have reviewed all the test results that were brought over with Samuel and have been performing a battery of additional tests. All reports thus far have indicated everything is healing well. The doctors are very pleased.

Samuel's next big step in his healing process will be rehabilitation. Samuel must learn to walk, run, and play again. The physical therapist took Samuel for a walk today down the hallway. The only support Samuel had was the physical therapist's hands under his arms. Samuel used both his legs. Grandpa said he has come a very long way in the past two days. God is good...all the time!!!

We are all so thrilled with Samuel's progress. Please continue to pray for infection to remain under control and that his physical therapy will go well. God is working miracles in Samuel daily. It is exciting to hear what wondrous things He hath done!! Praise the Lord!!!

Emily & Luke
Emily and Luke were able to spend the day with Samuel in his room. They had a very nice visit. They are extremely happy to be back in the States. They have enjoyed getting to read notes from you. Thank you...

Jeff
Jeff is staying the night with Samuel in the hospital tonight. Jeff was evaluated by the ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) doctor earlier today. The ENT determined that surgery cannot be performed on his ears for about 3 months. He wants to allow the body to do some healing on its own. He will require extensive reconstructive surgery on his ears. Please continue to pray for his complete healing, for wisdom for the doctors and for rest for Jeff.

Friends, we cannot describe what a relief and joy it is to have the family Stateside. THANK YOU for your prayers.....

"Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. His work is honorable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion." Psalm 111:1-4 KJV

Praising our Lord,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
