Trusting in the Lord
Friends and Family,
"I waited patiently for the Lord ; he turned to me and
heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set
my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my
mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust
in the Lord." Psalm 40:1-3
Cindy
Cindy is feeling better daily. Her physical therapy went very well today. She
was able to walk to her hospital room door and back to her bed with the aid of
crutches. Her equilibrium is still a little off, but everyone is pleased with
how rapidly she is healing. Please continue to pray protection over her body
during this time of healing without antibiotics.
Samuel - Day Four
Samuel's fever is responding to the medications and the family is continuing to
see some improvements in his condition. Rees indicated Samuel is having some
pretty rough days. He continues to be in a great deal of pain. "Owie. Owie.
My head hurts. My leg hurts. My stomach hurts. My..." are the cries and
screams the family hear most of the day and evening. His head injury, the
medications he is on, and the trauma he has been through are all contributing to
rather intense emotional outbursts. Cindy's presence has been able to calm him
thus far. However, Samuel was not calm during their last visit and Cindy
experienced a little bit of the emotional turmoil Samuel has been exhibiting.
It was very hard on her. Please keep her in your prayers.
Samuel's body does appear to be healing. Infection
continues to be our greatest concern. The doctors are watching the brain
carefully for any spread of infection. A specific prayer request right now is
that Samuel will be able to urinate on his own again. There have been many
complications with the catheters. Additionally, Samuel needs his digestive
systems to begin to function normally again.
The doctors plan to perform a catscan on Samuel's brain in
the morning. Pray for a good report, there would be no infection and no further
surgery would be required.
Jeff
Jeff did go to the emergency room with the pain in his ears. He was given ear
drops. The doctors did not see any infection. Praise the Lord for the good
report. Jeff spent the day with Samuel and is spending the night with him
tonight. Pray for his continued strength and for God to sustain his health.
Please continue to pray for Rees, Frankie and Susan as they
continue to minister to the Womble family. They are all praying to return to
the States soon, and ask that we join them in that prayer.
Trusting in the Lord,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
***Please know that we are sending updates to you as they
are received. We apologize for lapses in time when you do not hear from us. If
you do not hear from us, it means there are no new updates.
***Erik and Melissa had a baby boy, Andrew Erik, 8 lbs 10
oz, born 3-29-02. Mommy and baby are home and doing well.
***A few clarifications: Jared and Molly traveled to be
with Nick and Donna Nickerson not abroad to be with the Wombles and Nickersons
there. We are thankful God sent them our way. They have been a real source of
encouragement to us and a blessing to our children. We apologize for the
confusion.
