Walk By Faith and Not By Sight
Friends and Family,
"Our God is so great, so strong and so
mighty. There's nothing our God cannot do. Our God is so great, so strong and so
mighty. There's nothing our God cannot do. The mountains are His. The rivers are
His. The stars are His Handiwork too. Our God is so great, so strong and so
mighty. There's nothing our God cannot do....FOR YOU!!"
It is time to kneel before the Divine
Healer once again and ask for His Grace and Mercy for the family - Nickersons
and Wombles. Today, they are all putting "their trust in the Lord God that they
may declare all His Works." However, their hearts are feeling a little heavy
today and they are in need of encouragement. They all saw a glimpse of the light
at the end of the tunnel during the last few days of good reports....and
now...we have had a small "cave in" of sorts. We are asking that everyone take
some time to pray for God's Peace to fill their hearts to overflowing, that His
Grace will sustain them and His Love will surround them. Our God is so great, so
strong and so mighty. There's nothing our God cannot do...
Cindy
Cindy is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Her wound in the leg has begun to leak
some infection. The doctors will open the wound, clean it thoroughly, implant
some antibiotics, and close the wound again. Our prayer is this surgery will be
successful in bringing the infection under control and that it will not have
infected the bone. Cindy is doing so well and improving so rapidly that we want
to pray against this creating any setbacks for her. Cindy feels the surgery
needs to be done and is fine with it. This news is a little discouraging though.
She could use our prayers to uplift her. We do not have a time for her surgery
yet, but will keep you posted with updates as they are received. Please keep
Cindy in your prayers...
Samuel
The CAT scan was performed on Samuel at 1 p.m. their time today. The CAT scan
showed significant enlargement to the lower left of the brain. The indications
are there is infection and some bleeding within the brain. The swelling is
substantial enough that it is pressing on other parts of the brain and beginning
to be exhibited with neurological effects on Samuel.
Samuel is scheduled for brain surgery
tomorrow morning at 4 a.m. CDT. The doctors will enter the brain through the
existing holes, drain out the infection, scoop out the inflammatory tissue and
implant the needed antibiotic directly into the brain. The surgery is not
expected to last more than a few hours. Dr. Wendell Nickerson has indicated the
surgery needs to be done, and is comfortable with the surgeon and the procedure
to be performed. He is hopeful the surgery will be positive to Samuel's medical
recovery. He still reiterates Samuel is improving overall.
The wonderful report of Samuel's
recovery yesterday was an encouragement to all of us!! We do want to stress that
Samuel is doing better daily, is getting stronger, is experiencing the Healing
Touch of the Father. The pending brain surgery is of great concern and needs to
be covered in prayer; however, it is part of the "mechanics" Dr. Wendell
referred to when he told us Samuel's condition would require "mechanics and
time."
Be encouraged...our God is so good, so
great and so mighty. There's nothing our God cannot do.
Be prayerful...He answers the prayers
of His People.
Jeff and Helping Hands
Jeff needs a Touch from His Father today. We spoke with him briefly and he is
hurting with the news. He believes all will be fine, but his heart feels this
Monday is rather Black. He is walking by faith and not by sight, but still needs
God to uplift his spirit. We cannot stress the importance of continuing to lift
Jeff, Cindy, Samuel, Emily, Luke, Susan Womble, Rees and Frankie Nickerson, and
Dr. Wendell Nickerson to the throne.
Rees, Frankie, Susan, and Uncle
Wendell are all a little discouraged with the news. They, along with all of us,
were hoping the good reports of the last few days were bringing the day of their
return to the States closer...the new developments have pushed that possibility
out farther. They are trusting God and resting in His Grace, but hurting
nonetheless. Please continue to pray for all of them. Pray for a sustaining in
their spirits. We are in a marathon and not a sprint. The Wombles still have a
long road ahead of them. Please join us in praying the surgeries will be
successful tomorrow, healing will occur in their bodies and we will all be able
to hear very soon they have arrived safely in the States.
Thank you for your faithfulness to
pray. Thank you for walking this long road with us. You have been a living
testament of Galations 6:2, "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the
law of Christ." Many of you have been "Jesus in the flesh" to our family...thank
you. We thank you and we give God all the glory, honor and praise for all He has
done and is going to do. We ask you continue to pray and lift the Wombles and Nickersons to the Lord. Dr. Nickerson has said we are a third of the way through
the marathon...let us finish the race together...
"And let us not be weary in well
doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not." Galatians 6:9 KJV
Thank you...
Walking by faith and not by sight,
Nick and Donna Nickerson
